22nd April 2008
First game of the season ended up being cancelled due only to the rain on Saturday. Very disappointing considering that the pitch is as good as it's been for many a year. The re-scheduled game will be confirmed shortly. On another note, i am getting some people not replying to the match availabilty text's. I need to have a reply from everyone as soon as possible so that we can organise the team. If you are unsure about your availability, just text saying that you will need to let me know nearer the time. whinge over!!
NETS
The (improved) nets are now up and ready for use. Many thanks to Chris for his help on Saturday getting them back together. It really wasn't the weather for handling galvanised steel outside for 3 hours!
The nets have been underused over the past couple of seasons, so it would be good that we get more people on a regular basis. Nets will be every Wednesday starting from this week (23rd April) from 6.30 - dark (Weather Permitting!). I appreciate that not everyone can make it every week, but even if you can make half an hour, that would be great. Hope to see you Wednesday.

**REMINDER**
The Chalgrave sports club AGM this Wednesday (16th April) @ the Plough Inn, Wingfield. 7.30pm for an 8pm start. All Welcome.
Duty Rota
The duty rota is now complete and available here. I have included the whole team this year to ensure the workload is spread out equally. Everyone is scheduled to do 2 for the year. There maybe the odd extra match to cover here and there, and this will be scheduled as and when they happen. The reason why there are only 2 in some of the work parties, is because these are games where the Plough are playing which ensures more help on the day. Everyone, or as many as possible, will be required for Saturday 12th July in order to set up for the 10/10 festival of cricket. If you cannot make any of the dates listed, please try and swap with someone else. If this is not possible, then call or text myself so that i can arrange cover.
Many Thanks

Chaps, We need your help! This Sunday (6th), we will need to prepare the clubhouse and do various jobs around the ground ready for the start of the season. I am planning on being there from 10.30am. So an 11am start would be good. Below is a list of what is required in no particular order, and is not exhaustive!
- Remove all items from main room in clubhouse.
- Sweep / Hoover carpets(!).
- Clean fridges and re-stock.
- Put items back in the clubhouse!
- Turn water back on.
- Re-assemble the nets
- Grass cutting (If dry enough!)
- Strimming boundarys, where required.
Hot and cold running coffee provided on the day! Hope to see you there.

Another Season and another web master. Yep, The Nevster has been given access to update the website to assist the erstwhile Mike Wells. So, please forgive any typo's, totally biased accounts of matches and complete nonsense that may appear on these pages. Which will invariably be done after an evening in the Plough Inn (Good food served Mon - Sat 12 - 2pm & 6pm - 9pm. Sun 12 - 4pm. Excellent selection of real ales available which will be served by some(!) friendly staff). If you know what i mean. Now, down to business.
The provisional fixtures have been distributed and will be finalised and posted here shortly. An early start to this season should help with any fixture back log due to bad weather. First league game scheduled for April 20th (The Plough v's The Vic). Also a captains meeting has been arranged for Thursday 3rd April 8pm - 9pm at the Plough (Good food serv........etc etc!).
All there is for me to say is " Here's to a friendly, close and exciting season for all"
